TECH: Simple white metal casting

    I will be buying some Zinc today yet. I've been playing with high temp silicone and pewter with some success. Will be trying this very soon. THANKS for the tech.

    Learned sand casting in High School: Dick Beith (E.T. Mags proprieter, Bonneville LSR holder) was my 'student teacher'!
    Casted aluminum bars, (bootlegged Moon gas pedals, shrinkage was 1/2 size smaller...9 became an 8-1/2 shoe size. LOL) But we were sophomores, so most of my customers' fit fine.
    Molten aluminum was quite hot, so all these years I was satisfied that it would have to be sand to pour it into. (this changes everything)

    Never thought of beer can aluminum...Looks like our Dauphine pilot thought it through. Those taillight bezels are SMOOTH! ...good shine, too.
