I started looking to see how I was going to run taillights for my “A” project. There where so many options, 50 Pontiac, 38-48 Ford, Early Chevy, Etc, Etc.

I decided not to molest the rear sheetmetal panel by installing flush/frenched mounted lamps.

Here is my take with 33-36 Ford Lights installed on the rear sub-frame channel.

Went to the local Steel place and picked up a foot of 12ga, 4" OD pipe. 3 bucks and change + 7 bucks cutting fee (sheesh). Cut off about 4" length:

    Cut it in half:

Cleaned it up with a Die Grinder:
(Smokes here so you can visualize size)

Figured out where I wanted to place them:

    Cut out the metal:

    Made template for mounting flange:

    Welded Flange to Pipe:

    Welds Cleaned up:

    Test Fit:

Sprayed on a little weld thru primer:

    Tack welded and test fit:

    Finished Product:
(Needs a tad more touch up grinding)

That's it! One more option on what to light your rear up with! Have been wondering, what to hang on my A's ass (A's ass - he!), and this is a really good alternativ to so many other solutions...

    Kuul idea!

    Keep 'em kruzin!
