I sure hope my kids (when they come, none anytime soon though) will be my helpers and keep the rodding spirit alive. 39
my two little ones are a bit small to help(2&3) but they do help with motavation. i had the garage open the other day and the 3 year said beautyful hotrod, ride in it soon
Hey Grayson, So how come you don't have that new addition out there helping too? If nothing else, she could do the supervising HellRaiser
my 8 year old daughter goes to all the shows with me.We named our 30 coupster the 118.Her b day is jan. 18. She thinks its cool.
The summer that my oldest grand daughter was 4 we put a quick little non HAMB friendly car together. She's 16 this year and still want to know when we're going raceing again. Hewr mom and Mrs. 'Beaner have been talking about here spending the summer to build her her first car. She's get early to mid-'60s in mind. I guess I ruined her like I was ruined.
One of my youngest sons first words was "Hot Rod". They both love to help. Lord help me when they get old enough to drive. I have created two monsters.
baby was shoppin with momma,,oldest held complete grill,,while I unplugged the wires,,,she's always wantin to know when the hotrod (car) is goin' to be done
11 yr old son.. No interest 4 yr old son... no interest 2 year old daughter! has her own lil tool box with a few of my old extra wrenches. She likes to play in my 34 when I am working on it. Check this shit out: since daddy fixes all the broken shit around the house she is being potty trained and she told mommy that her but was broken cause she couldn t poop and daddy would fix it to poop when I got home from work... well needless to say when I got home she had to go and said Daddy fixed my butt mama... haha Anyways never thought shitting was so funny..
My 5 yr old soon to be 6 is always wanting to help, she loves to do anything mechanical and to help her dad! (replacing some broken intake valve guides, well removing, I havent replaced quite yet)
I have a 3 year old granddaughter that loves to help grandpa in the garage, teaching her the safety stuff first, She knows to wear shoes in the garage and to stay away from the moving stuff. My son has a 54 chevy we have been working on and she is right there. We just got it running after a 20 year rest in a Wisconsin barn. You should have heard her screaming when it started up. she was so happy you would have though she won the lottery. I would say she will be a gear head for sure. I built her a 32 pedal car that runs on electric motor at 1 year old she was driving the neighborhood.
From the pictures, you guys have some interesting years coming when these beautiful girls hit 14 or so. A valuable tip, screw the bedroom windows shut so they can't get out, and the boys can't get in. As the song says,"You kids have a good time, I'll be here cleaning this gun."
Amen, man. My stepdaughter's boyfriend knows he has to walk the straight and narrow line when he's here at the Ranch.
Sounds like you guys have it easy... here's my hot rod helpers: Yep, three boys and eight girls. Must be the Lord's way of paying me back for my high school/college years. Believe me, the neighborhood boys are very cautious of me.
Is there something in the water in Utah that makes the fertility rate skyrocket? Good god that's a big family! Even before I looked to see where you live, I thought....probably Utah. You have 12 Beautiful kids and should be proud......tired, but proud none the less.
Thanks for the compliments! Yes, we're tired. I had six, she had five. We married almost 15 months ago. Her five and one of mine live with us, but we have all 11 kids on a regular basis.
12 KIDS!!!! My god man...when do you have time to have a hot rod...Im not very religious but Im actually going to pray for you..hahahah They all look like good kids...have a good one
I posted these pics on another thread but better suited for this one. Th hot rod belongs to mydaughter she says. We got it when she was 3. shes been my co-pilot ever since. shes 6 now
Thanks skwurl! We always joke that it took us three kids to figure out what was causing it, and eight more kids to break the habit! Like I said, its only a joke! She's been spayed and I've been neutered so I think we're safe. We're still practicing though. Of course, stranger things have happened with less fertile people.
Where's Alice, dude? You, sir, have made me feel extremely grateful for having the privilege of using my own phone/bathroom/computer, etc. I'm assuming that you might not get the chance to use these amenities much. ~Jason
