Thinking of painting my in progress 32 2 door sedan taupe(actually 37 Ford cordoba tan) what do ya think? seems to be alot of off the wall stock colors being used these days.I like alot of them.
It is nice to try something a little different, but with such classic lines a brighter or darker color would be the way to go. Use contasting color for rims, except red. Red and black rims seem over done. There are so many cars to look at on here sometimes it is overwhelming. But, check some threads that are more '32 specific. Bottom line is that it is your car, have fun with it. Good luck
I know the color Tim, just dont call it taupe! Sounds like something from an HGTV show!!!! So, what are your thoughts? Is this the only color that digs at you!? I kinda float around with color ideas and settle on one main one. The Tudor is now at that point and everything looks as black as Hitlers soul.
Taupe does sound HGTVish never thought of it that way. Saw a sedan a few years back that was a dark tan color and it kind of turned me on.
i was going to suggest the same thing. maybe when somebody asks, you can shove your hand in your pants like al bundy and tell them it's brown, a light brown. maybe even spit too. they don't need to know.
I love the light tans. I had a hell of a time finding the color that was in my head. I did a 36 sedan before this one and had the same problem. It had poppy red rims (orange) Actually taupe was the color of the Lebaron Bonney interior that I used on the 36 sedan. It had a purple-ish hue. This is a gallon of Corvette Buckskin and a gallon of a mud brown mistake that the paint company had on sale dirt cheap. My buddy named it turkey turd tan. It can be difficult to find a color that looks clean but not musty or muddy.
