Tangerine Scream will be on the TV coverage Friday evening, the 21st on SPEED. Should be interesting to see what it brings. We at HRCC wish the owner the best of luck!

Here are some new pics mixed in with the Traditional Rod & Kulture photoshoot pics. He had the carbs reworked with some chrome and stainless recently.

  4. I'm always amazed how cheap really cool rods and Harleys go out the door at BJ's little sale

my jaw dropped when the bidding stopped, at least two people liked it enough to bid

  6. When Barrett Jackson first started they were getting hugely inflated prices for not so rare or desirable cars. As a result it drove up prices for all of us ordinary folk 'cause the car sellers all thought their old beaters were a goldmine! Now I see some really fine classics and hot rods going for a fraction of their build cost. I wouldn't want to offer a car I invested a lot of money into a no-reserve auction! I also think that most of the buyers are purchasing the cars as investments, and have no intention of driving them, but just rolling them over when the market gets better! You see the same guys bidding at every auction...

  7. Hopefully they talk up the shop too so you guys get some press.

I love that truck - hope the bidders do justice to it. Does it have the proper "provenance" to bring top dollar?? ;)

The Barrett-Jackson Travelling Circus rolls on....

I think with the Buyers fee it would come out to around 181K. Then you add Az Sales tax and it was probably around 197K.
Damn, I'm gonna try and sell my lawnmower there next year.

That truck was gorgeous. I had actually looked away for a moment and almost missed the truck. Very cool!

I have received a couple texts from Scott. He says it was a great experience and the Barret Jackson folks are real Pros. Overall he seems happy with the outcome.

Did anyone look at the details on the '57 Merc Montery on the Sat evening sell slate? It is a Bill Stroppe prepped car for USAC/NASCAR homlogation M355 punched motor and all. What a rare bear! Kind of a real sleeper!

Honestly, I am quite sad I will likely never have the opportunity to shoot it again. It was a beautiful, challenging subject.

I saw that truck in Chicago at the World of Wheels show. It's absolutely awesome! I can't help but wonder why the owner(s) are selling it.

Most likely to finance the next project. Same as a lot of guys on here do on a regular basis.

With auction premium it totaled $181,500.

He does have another project in the works, I look forward to shooting that one too.

  26. Glad to see it go for good money. The truck is awesome, but then again I am partial to 1932-34 Ford trucks. Hell, I'm partial to HRCC too. :D

glad to hear it went for that much! The sad part is...if you count labor, they probably have more than that in it...it looks like a nice piece!

Did you see the guy that bought it though? Not sure he can fit comfortably in it though. Glad to see it go for that much.
