Balls of steel Dude ... Nicely done and a huge improvement. If that doesn't make you a grenade inspector, I don't know what would.

Looks good Keith, you know I'm a big fan of straight B -pillars but I think in the case of the Boxer Dropper slanted ones would look better.

Are you cold up there big boy? Is it nipply?

Don't know about Keith, but it's cold as hell up heah.
Yesterday a coworker said, "It's a Porn Star Winter we're having."
    I said, "How's that?"
He says, "No matter where you turn there are 12-14 inches staring you in the face."

Back to your regularly scheduled program.

You know, this makes me wonder why I do not see more Hudsons out there. Looks great. The only thing that ever bother me about these cars is the length of the rear windows, but now that you have chopped it and moved the whole roof up 4" the proportions are looking spot on. Oh fuck....Now I want a Hudson!!!! Great job, and keep the updates rolling.

You took the perfect amount out of that thing to make the top flow. Very nice work and great documentation of the progress. Can tell youve been planning that chop for a long time

  10. I thought about that, but with how long the rear quarter window is, and with the way the regulator for the window works, I think I'm better off going with straight B pillars. That's what's on the agenda for the weekend...

It's not too cold out...it's about 32 or so. ha ha.

  11. I'm well aware of tetanus shot's hudson. I think I've got over 500 photos of custom hudsons saved on my computer here.

is that a 53 olds dash in it

  13. Ok, here are a couple of QUICK photoshops just to get an idea as to how the B pillar should be done....

    What do you think?

    Attached Files:

  14. Yep.

The car will be gloss black with a nice sandy/yellow-y gold on the wheels, top half of the dash, garnish mouldings, etc. That 53 Olds dash will look real nice in black and gold.

I really like the slanted look but I understand that it would be easier to keep them straight.

nice, i like it so far. keep us up-dated..
i put a 53 olds dash in my sons 57 ranch wagon

  17. ...i vote straight.

  18. I'm 80% sure I'll go straight. If I do go with the slanted B pillar, I'll need to find a window regulator that moves the window down and back at the same time....and honestly, I don't know if there'll be enough room to move the window back, cause it would hit the wheelwells....

    We'll see I guess.

Could you live with the rear windows stationary?

Slanted. Works better with the flow of the body, and draws attention to the work in the top chop.

  25. I would have said don´t do it too, but thats a massive improvement there.

I´d go straight on the B pillars. Helps the rear windows to look smaller - more of a coupe look. Keeps people guessing about the chop too - is it or isn´t it?

I like the slanted B pillars
but if ya gotta have functional rear windows...

either way the cut looks perfect
