Had 10" at my farm in Wisconsin. Spent all morning with the Willys Jeep plowing out. Then off to the shop to work on my T-Bird. :D

Yeah I agree! The 59 caddy taillights are the taillight of many customs ! But also have to agree they are probably almost as overused as corvette valve covers.

As a youngster i dreamed of owning a car with those taillights though.

It would take some engineering and a spherical (hemispherical?) light assembly, but I think it would be cool if someone could rig up 2 of these diamond-shaped lenses to wag back and forth like the eyes of an old Kit-Cat Clock whenever the turn signals are used.

  9. The lights fit the customs of the era for the car. We have to bear in mind that customs of the later 50s and early to mid '60s were cars built to excess.

I cannot say that they are my favorite lights, but I don't hate 'em.

I know that this is not exactly kosher for our traditional desires but if the lenses get burnt by a normal bulb one could use an LED.

Try the "Ray Guns" with a "V" shape to the white, or a round ring instead of flat. Play with the proportions a bit.
