I love watching everyones projects come together so I thought I would post some pictures of the drag roadster I'm building.It was a '26 or '27 T-Roadster that someone turned into a doodlebug years ago.Anyway, here are some pics of what I've got as of today.These aren't the best pics in the world,but it's all I have for now.
Been making a little progress with the roadster body,so I thought I would put some pictures on here.These are actually a couple months old and the body's farther along than this.I'll try to get some new pics tonight.
Hey, guys, Been making a little progress on the roadster,thought I'd share. Got the body framed up and tack welded,now I just need to pull the tin back off to weld it all up. Then I can move on to gettin the tin welded up. Pushed it out of the "shop" yesterday for a good look at it and some better pics. I think it's looking pretty decent,what do you guys think?
Thanks,wingnutz, I always liked that olds powered roadster you had(that was you,right?),looked like that thing screamed. Do you have pics of the one you're working on?
Yep that was mine... Mike (BCR on the HAMB) bought it and finished it and it looks "stunning" and had it ready for the LARS show on Fathers Day... had some issues with the engine... but seems to have a handle on it now. I'm going to have a thread just for the "T"... which should show the complete build. Stay Tuned!
Made more progress on the body,got the tubing for the body welded up. Got the hinges on and the door hung. Then I got most of the body panels welded on and got the welds smoothed off. Pretty happy with how it's turning out,since it's just a home-made body.
"Doodlebug", last time I heard that, it was 40 years ago in upstate New York, wait a minute your in New York, was that you? .......... { harald, what's a dudle bug ? }
Yeah,seems they were pretty common in the northeast,my grandfather had one,still sits on my cousin's property,my dad used to call 'em ''jitny's''. Maybe I should see about snatching it up. Thanks for the kind words,guys.
Fella up the street has a back acre FULL of doodlebugs - it's amazing what they did to make a home made tractor. Another fella I know has a rugged little beast with two transmissions and a wrecker boom. They are cute, but yours is bad ass. You're the first guy I know who turned a doodblebug back into a car. Nice work. Damn.
Can you take a closeup shot of how you mounted the rear leaf to the axle? I'm lookin to do a similar setup on my T bucket/ A-chassis project. Thanks
Let me know if these help or not,I know the pics are fuzzy. I can probly get better pics this weekend,I have a decent camera now. Also,check out the spring hangers Brian Bass built for the Wade coupe,I basically did the same thing,but built more drop into mine to get the stance where I wanted it.
