Made a little more progress, side tracked with other more important stuff, got some hoops bent up, had a buddy draw some rear end mounting brackets up and got then cut out, got rear roll bar in and rear end brackets tacked in and rear tacked in, then got the body mounted, now time to start getting the motor/trans mocked up/mounted

Looking great . You’ll be tearing down the drag strip soon . Looks like you’ve cornered the market on headlight buckets

Titus could build a whole hot rod just using the parts thrown under the workbench.

You may be thinking of Bill Wendt, wild street altered. I'd post a pic but don't want to derail the thread.

Made a bunch more progress, rounded up some killer palamides 18” 12 spokes, found a lakewood bellhousing, got the clutch-flight attached to the hemi, got it slung up in the chassis and got motor mounts made and mocked up the rest of the motor including the hemi stack injector. last night i tinkered on headers

Clutchflight included or did you have one. Pretty rare as well. Super cool find! Looking forward to seeing it progress! Thanks

HELPFUL CLUTCHFLITE HINT: Do NOT shift to Neutral and kill the engine after going through the lights!
The pump will stop pumping and starve the output yoke of lube, seizing it onto the tailshaft bushing. That will stop your driveshaft RIGHT NOW! and lock up the slicks.

    Ask me how I know.

Titus, Quain Stott just picked up one of these (his is a little later version). He might be looking for some others to play with, just saying!!

I can guess how you know, but could you say what you found is correct?
I'd assume neutral, engine running still pumps, but you can't read the plugs.
I'd also assume clutch in isn't pumping, the same as engine off.

I ran a clutchflite behind my six banger altered. The six cylinder drag engine is particularly susceptible to oil starvation on decells because of the long oil pan. I had previously run a clutchless 4-speed and got into the habit of
    hit the traps
    flick 'er up into neutral
    kill the engine
    hit the brakes
When I switched to the clutchflite I continued to use the same method of shutting down. Since the clutchflite has no rear pump the trans is left with no oil pressure. The slip joint / yoke was pressure fed oil and it starved with no oil, seized the yoke on the bushing, and locked up the rear axle at around 130+ mph.
BoyHowdy that will raise the pucker factor of a ride in an already intense experience of driving an altered.
That was one of the reasons I removed the clutchflite, in addition to slider clutch maintenance issues, and improvements in Powerglides and converters.

That is incredibly cool! It's great that you found it, not too many folks could bring it back to life.
