just found this thread on here and started to check it out. I am building a 48 plymouth club coupe. Goin for the taildragger look with it. 47 buick grill caddy bumpers and custom made skirts. what you guys think? rear bumper sits 4.5" off the ground and front still needs a 3-4" drop to sit where I want it. Any suggestions on anything you guys think its missing. roof is gonna get brought down 3-4" this winter. To about the style this car is in the second pic.

That blue Plymouth is fantastic. I wonder where it ended.
I seem to remember it used to be with the Emperors, it has a Packard grille and all the right ticks.
If that is where you aimin at you sure on the right path :D

One of the best threads ever, wanted to bump this back up with an excellent photoshop that James D did of my '47 Olds

The idea was not to shave anything since the ancient olive green paint is still decent, but I couldn't help seeing what it'd look like with the bumper guards removed and the handles shaved. I'm no photoshop pro but that much I could do.

I've already got the caps on and the skirts are almost finished, the dummy spots are an OG pair I've had for a while, the stance and some fairly minor body repair will be hopefully simple winter projects.

Orn, do you (or anyone else) know if the front and rear bumpers on the 46-48 Oldsmobiles are the same width? I'd like to put my rear bumper on the front without the guards for a smooth look, and put the front one on the rear so I can relocate the license plate into the bumper, and the front bumper has a neat license surround/guard on it. Just not sure if it'd work.

Of course, then I'd have to shave the trunk, and as long as I'm doing that....

I don’t know if they are the same width or not but a great idea. I use bumper override and license plate holder from a 47 Olds 98.

I like that look, that's what I want to shoot for, and I'm hoping I can do it using all the stock parts I already have. I guess I'll just have to try it.
