Event Coverage Sydney Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo

Andy and Donna staged the Show again this year after haing to cancel 2020. I went in 2017 with the Hudson when Gene Winfield was the Guest of Honor. Missed 2018 as I was doing the road trip across USA in the Hudson and back in USA in 2019 so missed that one also.
The show has a mixture of cars to suit all tastes with elite level street machines and hot rods(some not shown here as not HAMB friendly). Then there is the very popular Nostalgia Lane with more HAMB friendly hot rods and customs. The show has introduced a new level of cars especially in the non HAMB area. You won't see them here but some of the builds were incredible with the highest level of finish. A few of the cars,all built by one company are reputed to be in the $500,000 plus range.
My favourite part of the show is Nostalgia Lane and that is where most of the photos here were taken. Hopefully even after spending over an hour sorting photos that they will all be HAMB friendly. There may be a few cars with suspect wheels but I think they should be OK

Last lot

 

I left these till last. Probably one of my favourites. This car wasn't in contention for any major awards as it is not a "show car". John who came to the show with me is an ASRF Judge and has judged this and many other National Shows in Australia and explained why it wasn't in the main awards.
However it got two awards and we both reckoned they were the "real hot rod " ones.
One of the awards is in honour of one of the guys involved in the early days of the show(now RIP) and it is the award chosen by the show entrants and the other award he won was another to honour another stalwart of the hot rod scene in NSW also RIP and this was for a car that epitomised hot rod flavour!!
The best two to get.
