Happy Birthday Pete, one of Australia's hot rod trailblazers. The Dodge propelled Black T is a killer & has stood the test of time. Many happy returns, It sure would be a blast to see the T on the 31st.

 

A great post Corey lots of History. Your Dad is one of Hot Rods true Gentlemen. I was priveleged to be invited to the 70th party tonight and got to hear some great stories from Lonnie and then Eddie Ford about Swifty.

Well what do I have to say? I'd like to thank Corey (flatoz) for this thread and I'd like to personally thank all of you for your well wishes and Birthday greetings.

And to think this hot rod thing for me started when my mate Eddie who was also on the 1966 trip got a "Custom Rodder" little book from his US penfriend in Kansas in 1958. After that we were hooked and went on to build my T-bucket and Eddie's channelled 34 coupe with more enthusiasm than ability or knowledge. I guess we're lucky that we are still able to participate in and enjoy the hot rod scene.

I'd like to also thank all the guys and gals on the East Coast for their hospitality on our recent visit, also Ron and Laura for providing hot rod transport to the Fallout and around their area. I really enjoyed cruising in Laura's 32-5 window.

Back in 66 three Aussie hot rodders were a novelty in the US but that isn't the case anymore with more and more making the trip to visit the shops and events. Things have definitely changed in the last 45 years but the hot rod fraternity is still made up of a great bunch of people.

So thanks one and all for the good wishes, I've had a great day, had a small party tonight which was a bit bigger than I was led to believe, caught up with lots of old friends and told stories-all of which were true LOL

I should add some of Eddie Fords Stories about what he and Swifty got up to back then if any of us tried that today well......Should also add Swiftys lovely wife had a birthday the day before. Both in the photo I posted earlier. Swiftys T was part on my inspiration to build a T so the photo of mine and his side by side means alot to me.
