    Hi

I'm Toni from Sweden and feel like I belong in this craz.... smart community!

I'm 57 and in Sweden that is a little bit too old... Playing with cars...?
But who cares? I'm probably too old for Pamela A-son as well, but I lov... like her a lot!

For me hot rodding is all about refining old cars.
    Period.
In what way or with what type of car is not important.

Respect the "old guys" who started it all and don´t be afraid to find new styles.
It's the love to that mechanical invention on four wheels, that let you go as fast as you (and sometimes your wallet) want.

Maybe sounding like a priest now, but this is how I see it.

Working with a "Eurod" for the moment, a Brittish Commer 1951. Pick up. See the avatar.
Actually it was just the cab, nose and fenders I bought, rest is home made.
Tubular chassis with a mid mounted Audi V8. Almost everything picked from the salvage yard or Ebay. Parts from at least 5 different brands. Will be fun...

    Thanks
    Toni

OK, this is how it all begun, some 3 years ago...
A Commer -51 cab, fenders, grille and hood. A -92 Audi V8 with a -95 6-speed gearbox. Some rails a head full of ideas...

Or I guess I shall start a new thread?
Take it this as a teaser then, I'll present it under the humble thread "Worlds fastest Commer"

  11. Welcome from Arkansas. That Commer resembles a old Ford P/U don't it?

    To "1stGrumpy".
Yes, I think they looked at US trucks and did something of their own.
My truck is slightly smaller that the americans (no surprise...) but otherwise it is very similar.

The Commer started in the -30s and disappered in the Chrysler group in the -70s, I think. Not sure, have not found out very much about them. They built mostly commercial vehicles and small motor homes.

Attach some pic's from the sales broschure.

    Welcome from Florida!!!
Looks like Sweden really loves Americana too!!!My brother-in-law Lenny Lljungholm, and from Stockholm, and myself, are planning on coming over soon with a few containers of 20s,30s,40s,50s,and 60,s cars from my dads/ uncles/family collection, for new clients there. We are bringing a 39 Lincoln Zepyhr coupe to leave there at his parents home to go driving in on our trips from then on. Would love to hook up w/some rodders there to for a cruise, beer, etc.I introduced Lenny to classic cars when he married my wifes sister last summer. Now he,s here in Florida and hooked like the rest of us poor souls.(o:}Best way to reach us is on our www.facebook.com page under"Atkinson Brothers"Take care,Jonny
