Was it rebuilt? Those two were really lucky...as that was quite a nasty one...

Gas ronda vs sox & martin Winternationals @ Irwindale….jpg
It's Gas Ronda, not Rhonda. Also, the Winternationals were held at Pomona, not at Irwindale. I suspect this was a match race, and not a National Event. I'm not trying to be picky, just trying to keep things in some kind of historical truth...

The car was fixed. They cut the complete passengersideand gave it to Leno along with the wheels. Not sure that's a trophy I'd want. Looked pretty gnarly

not sure if this belongs in this thread, it probably needs it's own...but I saw this pic on the internets, something about the Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals.

Back to the top, please. This is a '65 Coronet that was purchased
by a friend in Lemont, Illinois in the spring of 1968. It supposedly
had been a Mr. Norm's car, but in speaking with Norm Krause and
Gary Dyer neither verified that. Dyer said he had no recollection of
the car and Krause said without any numbers to go by he couldn't
help. My friend Joe Mangine is long gone and a couple of us still
wonder where the car ended up. Ever seen it?

I just watched a half hour PBS program on Dick Brannan's career. It reminded me
    of this photo:

I have a bit of History that has to do with Jerry Hamam
I never new him this all came by surprise
me being a vintage nostalgia nut and a motorcycle racer I caught wind of this rare barn find or garage
piece its a Yamaha td2b road racer with some Don Vesco parts 1971 model I got it from Jim Allen
Niagra Falls Ny. Jim is ex Canadian champ from 70's, he had a racing friend that was moving away and had no room for the bike so he gave it to Jim, His named Pat that worked at
Jerry Hamam's small Datsun dealership in the back they dealt with motorcycles on the side ,Pat would have been the service manager and road racer ,any way if anyone can remember anything im tracing history down on this machine this bike which sat in Jims garage since about 1975 untouched I went thru it and almost won the Ahrma Vintage Series unfortunately I could not attend the last race. thumbnail6NZL59OR.jpg

This is supposed to be the CKC Racing Team car out of San Antonio, Texas IIRC.
Man, would I love to pull some molds off of that roof....Or get it lase scan mapped and digitized....

I do hope it gets restored to either 1st year race version or the as delivered version.

Chevy missed the boat not offering this roof from the factory in steel as a real production model in my opinion.

The folks would confuse Chevy IIs with Marlins! :)

I also hope the car gets put back together eventually...it would be a riot to see it go down the track again
