The first woman to ever win an NHRA event was Drag on Lady Shirley Shahan in 1965 Winternationals Super Stock/A with her Hemi powered Belvedere. Chrysler gave it to her with an automatic. She asked why an automatic and they replied we didn't think you could handle a stick.

In might look like the 60s but it was really last night. We are running a nostalgia race at George Ray's hot rod wildcat dragstrip in paragold Arkansas. These two Ford products look perfect at this track. The track was finished in November of 1961. It is a track time has forgotten. Very little has changed since it opened. Unsanctioned and uninsured this track located in George's back yard is a unreal trip back to the past. It should be on everyone's bucket list.
Dangerous looking track for some fast cars.
Reliving the past in all it's dangerous glory.

That looks like Indy early 90's. Paul Sulloff and Bob Kyle's tribute to Arlen's Ol Brownie 63 Plymouth.

That's at Indy, early '90s. I've also got a photo of a black one that I can't find at the moment.
