Technical Super cool roadster body

this jewel showed up on a FB page.
What a cool start for a hot rod.
Guy was wondering what it is.

 

It is cool. Hood shape kinda looks Packard ish, but the cowl really doesn’t. Maybe someone will recognize it.

Looks like an earlier hood was mated to a Dodge teens meets twenties

 

Does that count as “it’s always a Dodge” ala VanDenPlas

 

Mid teens something but not Dodge or Chevy from what I can find. Dodge hoods went out to the edge of the cowl like later hoods and the closest Chevy I found didn't have exposed door hinges.

De Dietrich 1910/11/12 ish, rare and someone in France probably wants that body.

And remember, LOTS of higher quality car manufacturers used outside/coach building companies for bodies, so based on the firewall, it could be a Lorraine or a Packard

The cowl in question doesn't fit flush with the hood sides as your Cousin does, even with the exposed door hinges.

Perhaps it's a common Pack-hard. I know it's not a Mercury.

If that is a Lorraine Dietrich, it's super rare, a roadster will be even rarer and valuable but not that much. To rebuild from just the shell : good luck finding parts.
To build a hot rod it might look weird, they are quite big, maybe something à la Roth.

 

Zooming in on the photo I think I see the lower door hinges. Now if Anthony can tell us where the body is that may help. The DeDietrich appears to be a very high end automobile so I would think the location may allow us HAMB detectives to see if it makes sense. Finding a Bentley in Come by Chance, Newfoundland or in Twisp WA you would think it unlikely that it is a French built car....

Early Willys was one response. Has a similar shape. Appears to be right hand drive but some early US cars were.

OP has posted the pics they have, so can't provide more detail, but the thing that jumps out to me is what looks like raised details and holes outside the hood support, not smooth. Almost like the hood support flange was added after. That De Dietrich is a stunner!

 

The '12 Willys does have similar features (note the exhaust routing!), but the hood doesn't have that much curving going on.

Pretty sure it isn't Packard, as doors are not even close and the hood hinge has a 90 degree angle on the Packard (this is either a pic of my old boss' Model 30 Touring or it's twin), where the Lorraine Dietrich is a "flat" 45

 

Oh- get that up to Hershey next fall and I bet you'll find someone who has a chassis for it
