The first day in about 5 months where I could actually have the shop door open for a few hours. I'm from San Diego, so I don't do so well in the cold, but was happy seeing the sun finally!! Also spent a few hours with my little girl, teaching her the basics of MIG welding.

Yeah... last week I was in Spokane, and I thought that the weather was just terrific or perhaps that was just Chris!
Anyhow's about that, the Winter 3 1/2 hrs to your north has been actually very mild as well. And I be liking it to stay this way... as my paint-booth shop renno is taking far to long to com p l e t e

Just a couple more pics of my 'ill girl working with me in the shop today. She's 7 y/o and apart from NOT liking the sparks hitting her while grinding, she is pretty excited to "hang out" with me . And YES, she had safety glasses AND a face shield on, but some stray sparks still hit her, and she DIDN'T like it at all.

Finished product. She's happy with her metal smiley face, and I'm as proud as can be!! I "tacked" the pieces together, and helped her with a little umphh here and there when she got stuck, but for the MOST part she did it all on her own.

Hmmm, wasn't able to put them ALL together in one post with this iPod thing!?!?!? If this is too long winded or uses up to much space/bandwidth, whatever it is called, feel free to delete!! Was just overly excited with what she built.....

  20. Teach em young. I for one think it's terrific to teach the young ones as much as they can store in their brain. She will always remember workin the metal and welding with her daddy.

The weather has been nice. Got to work in the garage without the heater on today. Just one question for you though. where did you get her the gloves? Been looking for some small ones for my 9 year old son. Just got a new Lincoln mig and we're learning how to weld together. Or at least sticking pieces of metal together, not sure if the self taught lessons could be considered learning.

Got the Carhart bibs, thick canvas Wrangler shirt, and the small gloves at BIG R, on Trent. General Store on Division has some of that stuff too, if they are closer to you??? Also got a small head gear insert for my helmet, which fit her perfectly.
