I just started model building. The only other time was an abandoned fire engine when I was 12. box stock 50 ford f1. I went to my body shop supplier to get the formula for sportsman green and mixed with one shot+some testers colors. A 29 roadster from the double 3-1 ala cart kit and my 31 sedan that I chopped and put a red ram hemi in. I started with the idea of copying Jack Chrisman's car but did it a little different. I also thought I needed to hand paint the license plate
The H.A.M.B. Bonneville racer contest is still on. The new, and final, deadline is December 31. For details go to http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?do=discuss&discussionid=23153&pp=20&page=8 There's still time for everybody to build something and send the photos to enter.
I started this one in 2007 & it has been sitting since 2008 without any more work done to it. I took it out yesterday & started trying side trim ideas. Packard trim temporarily glued on with white glue so I could take photos of it. After seeing the photos I liked it, & was able to remove the trim very easily. I marked the positition, & later, will glue it on permanently & cut the lines for the door opening.
Holy cow Steve another winner! You've sure got an eye for early style customs. Someone get the fire extinguisher we've got a hot one! I mean c'mon... The door corners are perfectly rounded!
