Does anyone have experience or tech info on suicide door surgery for box style vehicles. I have a 54 Merc and now that the new Y block has it operating again....I'm bored and feel the need to disable it I was thinking of cutting the hinge assembleys and pockets from the rear of a 4 door and flipping them to the opposite side front doors. Same with the latch mechanisms. Any ideas??
it is much harder to do it that way if you use donor hinges from a vehicle that has the door open in and behind the adjacent panel. Because you will need to create a opening for the rear edge to tuck into the quarter panel. Buy or build hinges that allow the door to open out and around the quarter panel.
