Studey drive-train question.

    ....I'm already anticipating the answer, but gotta ask anyhow. I want to put a 232 or 259 V8 in my 50' R5 truck (flat-6 with overdrive manual). Will the V8 bolt up to the that trans? I expect that it probably won't, but still have to ask. Anybody know of an adapter plate made if not.

    There was a slight difference in bolt pattern between the Champion trans and the larger Commander type trans--when I get to my catalog this evening, I can give you exact dimensions if you are interested.

    Champion transmission dimensions, center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole, is 6 5/16 across, and 4 1/8 vertical. Commander is 6 across, and 5 3/4 vertical.
