Technical Stromberg 97 with a vacuum port??????

    Anybody ever see a Stromberg with a vacuum port like this. It doesn't have the 97 on it but it looks like a 97 in every other way. Just above where the 97 would be is 1-1

    I have a base like that. If I remember correctly, that is the fuel take off for a gas fired heater.

    Yessir... They were sold as replacements for late 40's, early 50's Ford flatheads using Holleys with the Loadamatic distributors.
    Sold at Sears, Western Auto, Pep Boys and some dealerships.
    Also, that's a vacuum takeoff... If you disassemble it, you'll see that the body is plumbed for venturi vacuum with corresponding plumbing in the base.
    If you're rebuilding it, be sure to punch a small hole in the gasket. New gaskets don't have that little hole.

    It's a pretty cool carb with that on it....it's the first I've seen....Thanks!!!!

    Let me see if I can find it Clark. I also have a cool spacer plate with the heater take off
