Stromberg 97 Tapped Emulsion Tubes

When servicing the carbs on my A banger, I pulled the emulsion tubes with a #6 tap and they look good. I've got new ones but it would be nice to have some spare parts. What's the word on running the tapped tubes? Will the threads in there mess with the air flow and cause problems? Anyone run the tapped ones?

 

the tubes in my 48's are tapped. I don't think it really mattered. You might ask Uncle Max or duane ( stromberg97 ) here on the HAMB. They are the experts !

 

I wouldn't worry about it either. Just did a 3 duece setup and wouldn't know any difference.

 

We tapped the tubes in our 81's when we set them up for Alcohol on our V8-60 midgets. No effect on how the run.

 

I have over 500 pair of tapped tubes out there in the world running just dandy. No worries.
