Hot Rods Strange V8-60 cylinder heads..........

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by safariknut, May 19, 2021.

  1. I posted pictures of this in the cageless midget thread last week but didn't generate any responses so I guess I'll try it here.
Did some lettering repair work last week on an early midget race car powered by a V8-60 with Weiand 2 carb manifold and a set of non-finned aluminum heads marked,"YOUNG". Checked with a good friend who is pretty knowledgeable on flathead stuff and he never heard of them either.
Sent an e-mail to Speedy Bill's but have yet to hear from them. So I will pose it to the flathead cognoscenti here: Anyone ever hear of heads manufactured by someone named YOUNG? Here are a couple pictures. Any info would be greatly appreciated. GlennMeyer's1.JPG GlennMeyer's3.JPG GlennMeyer's5.JPG

They were boat engine heads, so no fins for cooling !

  3. Thanks for the reply. Do you have any info on the company;where it was located and the rough time frame? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
