this strange old early flatty has been laying out int the junkyard for decades. ive never seed one with the sides welded up??? which they look great...... but why?
Here's a HAMB article on sheet metal V8 60 37-39 V8-60s have sheet metal water jackets welded to the open sides of the block. Only the 40 V8-60s have a full cast block as well as bigger crank and rods. The best V8-60 to get and to modify.
neat. though according to the other guy after that say its early 37 only. in april 37 they switched to all cast. so that would make this fairly rare to find today. more that likely the block is now shot if it wernt already before it was pulled. but itd still make a nice table display. next spring i will have to see if i can get it apart.
It's 37 only. I ran a 38-39 block for awhile, 40 block now. If it didn't leak before it was pulled, it would now. Yeah, lots of 60 coffee tables, lamps. Should be a Stromberg 81 on there but looks like it's munched.
