After seeing how many intakes keep showing up, thought we might explore exhaust. These are a set of waynes on a twelve port, wipe off drool.

stock header split to the front for clearences.A block off was welded inside the heat riser to make an honest split.

Not a real exciting addition but here are some pics of the factory Corvette split manifold. I pulled it in favor of Clifford long tube headers but I am going to put it back soon I hope.

and greg, while that may not be as sexy at that hollywood it is all business and that is just as rad!

so is there anyone that has actually ever seen a set of Clarks?

I'm beggining to feel like they never existed

Ive held in my hands a set of 8BA aluminum heads, mind you they only made themfor a couple of months in cananda, and in every early hotrod magazine there are clarks ads out the wazoo and no one even knows what they looked like!

I cant even find anything out doing a google search...

    beuhler...

I've got both a pair of Clarks and a pair of "Bumbe Bee" headers, which are basically Clarks with a heat riser added to the front header. I bought the Clarks one piece at a time, and both pieces are N.O.S. A company called International Parts Corp. sold a rear header that looked like it came from a Clark style stamping to be used with a modified front half of a stock exhaust manifold.

Yeah, the next time I crawl up into the attic of my garage, I'll dig out both pair for a photo shoot. Got any scantily clad babes you can send over to hold them and smile?

Well, I'm glad that you posted a picture of yours, because they're completely different from mine. The Clark headers I have are made of stamped steel with thick steel flanges welded to them. The earliest ad I've found picturing them is in the July 1950 issue of HRM--two years before the earliest ad I've found for Fenton headers--and I've never seen an ad picturing the cast type that you've got there.

hmmm... I cant find much info on them either, I was told they are off of a 49 Chevy but you know how those stories go. I plan on running them on a 216 or 235 in my 52 Chevy. I grabbed em up because I had never seen any in person before either.

Given the thread title, I think this qualifies.

  26. Just to add to the conversation, I'm an inliner also and will be upgrading my 235 six with period correct "soup up" speed parts in the very near future. I will be using reproduction split cast iron headers (non-fenton) since originals are to drool over if found for the right price.

  30. I know this thread is old as shit...

Here are the stamped steel Clark headers. I found these on Search Tempest, the nationwide CraigsList search, while looking for something else a couple of weeks ago. I realized they were in the same town north of Seattle that my uncle lives in, and after a little back and forth, he made the deal for me and shipped them to me. They arrived this week.

I've seen ads for "Clark Header Co." at 7018 Fireston Blvd., Downey, CA (March 1952 Motor Trend) and "Clarke Exhaust Header Co." at 6612 E. San Luis, Compton, CA (November 1948 Hot Rod). Both ads mention lowering blocks. The "Clark" ad from 1952 mentions Chevrolet and Ford headers, but doesn't have a pic of the Chevys. The "Clarke" ad from 1948 only mentions Ford headers (A, B, V8, 6, and 60). Anybody know if these are the same company moving around and tweaking their name, or if they are different? Makes me wonder if the cast Clarks are Clark (obviously, it's on them...) and maybe the stamped ones are Clarke...?
