    more stolen cars

It's a bitch to have one stolen, but it's great to see some are recovered.
What is worse is the shops owner & a cop was involved...joe

  2. This was over on Chevytalk too. Imagine that, a corrupt cop, in LA.

That's the usual downfall of these guys though, they get away with a few, they get big balls and get careless and keep stuff around or keep doing the same thing too many times and thats how they get busted.

    great that they caught them!
the one reason I could never get into the gone in 60 seconds remake....I could never get around them glamorizing the theft of the classic cars.. my thought at the end of the movie when they gave him the fixer-upper, was that I hoped it would get stolen from him and totaled ,just like what he had done.
car thieves that are "car guys" are the at the absolute bottom of the species.

I have some pliers and a bunch of free time. Maybe they should just turn the guy over to me for a weekend. I bet he'd never steal a car again after that. What a loser! Car thieves should be mangled beyond recognition, then prosecuted.

  7. I seem to recall seeing an article on B-body Mopars over in Japan;makes one wonder how many of those were ripped off? I think it was on the 62-65 B-Body site;a good one for Mopar enthusiasts, but did they ever question how those cars got over there? Interestingly,Japan is also a big market for stolen classic "exotic" cars;i.e. Ferrari GTs/SWBs,etc.
Is anyone making the connection here between stolen rides,"law" enforcement officials and Japan? Kind of makes one wonder about how high the corruption goes, and how much of a "hands off" approach there is because of the Japan connection.
I like Kreatures approach;sometimes a little "localized" justice is needed to deal with this scum. Hey,I'm laid off with some extra time on my hands-and lots of pliers...

the cop will probably get special treatment. (like pay a fine and be on a teather for 30 days..in his living room:mad:)
and 8 years isnt long enough..I hope they all end up with Bubba the corn hole -ier as their cell mate:eek:

this is why they should make an open season on auto theifs..season starts Jan. 1st..closes December 30th. No bag limit

Thats a common story.. nice old car gets stolen, they question the last shop that worked on it. usually they're connected somehow.. more incentive to work on my own cars.. haha..

  10. The sad part of the story is that the Cops found "pieces" of the stolen car in the Shop they busted...

well what do you expect going to a place with a name like billet works

any how on a serious note, its good they go busted and it does really suck like the other guy said that they found pieces of the stolen car, what a miserable thing first you have the hope you may get your car back and then they find it chopped up

  14. SCUM that steal cars have no respect for the hard work someone has put in to their car, and that needs to be taught to them.

Here in the UK there is a few schemes that take car thieves and teaches them how to restore cars. I personally feel that they should be made to restore the car, then once they have spent hours slaving over it and can really take pride in it someone re-enacts that scene from Misery. Lets see em drive then!

Castration with a dull sledge hammer comes to mind and they pick who goes first.

I was watching an old Western last night and the same thought occured to me. Once a few car theives got strung up , it might send a more permanent message to other scumfucks.

  20. Thats one good thing about having old Plymouths, no one wants them!:D One of my customers bought a a/c unit from them, i was not impressed with them just by the way he got the thing in pieces, normal parts that should be in a kit were not there, and the way they told him to run the hoses through the firewall with a gromet not a bulkhead, hell i spent 3 days smoothing out the firewall and i ain't drilling a bunch of holes in it for crap like that. glad they got the bastards! the cop needs the most punishment!

Yeah, the "CAR" was not found, just pieces of it. That's not a happy ending in my book. I wonder if some of these guys PAID the shop owner to dissappear these cars so they could collect the insurance value.

  22. wasnt that Vels guy the same guy that was on hotrod tv as a expert, telling the cameras how cool the "scarliner" was??? and big surprise a cop involved

Must be a dumb copper, imagine being an auto theft specialist and he don't know enought to not get caught. I hope that being he was tough enough to do the crime he will be tough enough to do the time. Oh Bubba !!, you got a room mate coming, better get your KY out.

My only hope is there is enough of the business assets in his name that he ends up actually having to pay restitution as well as jail time. The retired officer is giving honorable officers a horrid name. He won't be able to hide from that.
Remind me to send a thank you card when my insurance rates go up.
