Last night a friend of mine, who is rebuilding his first truck (1954 Ford F1, had his reproduction box, rear fenders, and grill stolen from his garage in Reedsburg WI. They are still in the usual black finish we are all used to seeing. If anybody stumbles upon a deal that is just too good to be true. Let me know...

Tryin' to think of an appropriate slur for the low life lower intestine osculaters that

    1. Knew the stuff was there

    2. Snuck in and took it like it was theirs.

    There IS a slur...

The thieves took a chainsaw, and a few other smaller tools. My brother lives next door, they broke in to his garage too...the only thing we can find missing is the shift knob off of his 64 nova wagon his impact wrench was laying on the floor, he never leaves his tools laying around. We think they got spooked shortly after getting into his garage. He has a lot of value in his garage that didn't get lifted. I'm sure they cased the joint.

I wouldn't think they would be so bold, or stupid to sell at Iola, but we go every year. This year we are not going until Saturday, it would be sold long before that!

    They're gone.

Unless they're engraved with some kind of identifying marks it's impossible to prove they're yours even if you think you found them.

Interesting turn of events... Friday morning my friend woke up, looked out the window of his house to find that the thieves had returned most of the missing parts. They didn't return the grill or most of the tools, but they did return the complete box and his air compressor. Go figure...

Maybe they are members here and saw the post. Or some dumb kids. My uncle stole a Model A coupe in the sixties and the Sheriff came over to the house and said they had no idea where it was but if it was put back they wouldn't press any charges. It was back the next night.

Quite possibly some dumb kids who's parent (s) asked where the hell that stuff came from and made them haul it back. Probably not all that far away from that garage either.
