It's really nice to see pictures of that car. I'm the guy that contacted you when you got the car (a couple of years ago?) & told you of the whereabouts of the original builder. I don't know if I told you about the Stewarts connection..the builder & I both worked at Stewarts in Allentown, PA back in the mid-60's. The boss was a big car guy ('55 T-bird..new '65 442) & he sponsored the builder. (My first moving violation was in the T-bird, New Years Eve, 1962, by a state cop in a '62 Biscayne, but that's another story). Anyway, I actually lended an extra hand here & there when the build was happening. I do recall one funny incident..Rod was having a real hard time with something on the rear portion of the car & he lost his cool & started smacking it with a big hackin' hammer. The hammer broke & flew back & hit him in the head. That was good for a laugh. That all happened in a four bay garage in an alley in east Allentown. Sorry, we never thought of taking pictures back then. How are things coming along with it?

    from nowhere...

    I almost bought it...
I looked at it in P.A.
It IS a cool piece of history...it was gutted pretty good, and featured some "interesting" back yard engineering...it must have been a hell-of-a-ride!
It would be cool to see it restored ( no small feat...)
Or in a museum, just the way it sat...
I'm not sure how much of the history the former owner knew...I'd love to hear more about it, too, fact vs. fiction, and what not...neat old car!

Wow, nice job! I'll have to send a link to all of this to the son of the Stewarts sponsor who now resides in Berlin, MD. I just visited him about a month ago (for the first time in 40 years!) & actually related this story to him. I'll tell him of the Baltimore show & maybe he'd want to check it out.
