Technical Steering wheel adapter?

I have tried looking on speedways site but there search really kind of SUX

Is there a adapter to take a splined steering wheel to fit a keyed tapered shaft column?

Or is a person forced to cut another column and splice the 2 together.

 

There was a post some time back on this. Conclusion was your last sentence.

 

No adapters and you do have to resort to door number 2. You don't just cut off the shafts and butt weld them together though. There is a proper and safe way to do it.

 

I wouldn't think "just" butt welding it.. I would presume to at least sleeve it, After all it is a steering part wouldn't want it to come apart in a turn @60+ MPH.
