steering joints

    for all the steering gurus . when you have three joints in the steering shaft. 1 at rack 1 in the middle and 1 at the column my ? is where is the best place for the bearing support. the reason for 3 joints is to clear exhaust and this is on 41 ford pu m11 sbc thanx guys. tom

    The support bearing should be as close the the middle u-joint as practical, but it doesn't matter which side of the joint it is on. Have you seen the oversize 3/4 Heim joints they make just for that purpose?
