Steering box ID

Anyone have any idea what this box is from?

 

Sure looks like VW bus.

 

Does a VW box use a half moon keyway to hold the steering wheel in place?

 

thats a vw bus box for sure pre 1967

 

Yeah VW bus, don't know why they aren't used more.......they are a slick install and work great...

 

Very interesting! This is new to me, at least. I am going across the street to the VW restorer tomorrow to check it out.

They are pretty slick. I guess they were used quit a bit in T-Buckets back in the day.

 

they arnt used more cause a rebulit one cost 500 now about 300 for a used one
