Did my part over the weekend starting a kid down the path of becoming a Gear Head! I gave a distant cousin one of my daughters Sop Box Derby cars totally dis assembled along with the assembly manual and rule book and told him put it together and I would pay for his first race ... over the weekend I did just that , he got his ass handed to him by the more experienced racers but he wasn't discouraged and learned from it by the end of the day he was driving the car straight down the track ! he is totally hooked and now wants to paint the car candy apple green and have some lines pulled on it so I guess its time to get him out in the garage and turn him loose with my HVLP gun and some extra paint so he can learn how many other 13 year olds are out there that need to be taken under a wing ?
That's great. For some reason that's just not popular in Houston. Ha. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
My son started really wrenching with me at 10, first big job I remember him helping with was installing a transmission in my car. Before he was 14 he bought his own car and now at just past 15 he has a running and driving car but no license yet. Keep kids in the garage and out of the house! Devin
