Starting with a pretty good body, looks like the roof has been repaired at some point in it's life. Some patch panels here and there that have been barely welded in but at least it's metal. This should be fun.
Looks like a cherry body! btw the lead in the windshield posts is original - to smooth the factory seam.
Chop, channel, Hemi and a quick change. That's the plan so far. Lol, here is the first stages with the channel started and the firewall half done with new front body mounts.
Wow! That's looking good. Love the look of the firewall and placement. Are you going to run a 354 or 392?
Looks great - do you want to volunteer to "un channel" my '32 Sedan? I'm in Edmonton- where are you at? Steve
Why in the world would you cut what looks like a very cherry floor out of a rare '33 coupe? Not all bodies have to be whacked into radical, uncomfortable, hard to see out of, harder to sell hot rods.
The floor is still in it, just moved up 5 inches. And it wasn't so cherry that it wasn't a good candidate for it's new ( much more fun) life. It would have been bored sitting in some rich guys car collection not turning a wheel.
I street rodded my 33 3 window... Than I found the HAMB. After I finish my 32 I plan to redo it and make it into a more of a ORIGINAL car. I put a 383 with blower etc... I hate it. Luckily I didnt chop or channel. So it wont be that hard. The HAMB has made me more into restored cars/resto rod cars.
I like 33-34's channeled with no chop, for some reason. Looks like it will be fun when finished, any wheel/tire combo or color chosen yet??
He goes to the gym for workouts, Monday til Friday ! No really, that looks like a really solid 33 coupe body ! Good luck on your project ! / primerkid
Building a hotrod...Alright man...We need more of those and less crying. Chopped, channeled, 392, thats a great formula. same boat man...but with a beat 32 5w....and less talent.
Starting my rough as guts 34 5 window this coming weekend .Gonna have a 5inch chop ,354 Hemi with 6 carbs and a 5 speed manual.I,ve been waiting a long time to get to this baby.
Ok got the chop on the way, figured I would lay the posts back about 15 degrees and wack 3.5 out of the back and a bit more out of the front. Here it goes.
Really looking forward to seeing this build, I've seen a couple of your other builds in person and I've been blown away by the workmanship and attention to detail--and I've loved 33 3-windows since the ZZ Top Eliminator came out when I was a kid.
Thank you very much, ya the eliminator is one of my favs too. Now Billy is driving my old impala so maybe one day I can take his 33 for a rip. Here is the top sorta back on.
that is a cool body and & nice job on the chop! the 34 5-window that belongs to fello freind of mine here in mo has about the same chop but it was done many a year ago. but u just gotta like a real 33-34 ford!
