We are doing Drag Week and his blower snout bearing is acting up.

We are in need of a 5206 bearing for a BDS blower.

    We are in Bowling Green.
Heading to Indianapolis tonorrow afternoon, St Louis on Wednesday, Memphis Thursday, then back here Friday.

Let me know if you have one or can guide us where to get one.

    Thanks!

That bearing seems to fit at least some air-conditioning clutches.

    Sealed or no?

Try Kaman industrial they handle skf Or did when I was one of their best customers in their Pasco Wa store.

All they have here is grass and water bottles.

Thanks for the leads. We'll see what we can find in the morning.

As far as I know TIMKEN 5206KSSE or 5206-2RS are the sealed ones, although there are several that indicate interchange. The difference seems to be seal style, if any, in RPM, all of which would be past plausible.

5206DD seems to be a common interchange at the parts stores. I will look for more places, posting this first.

    AC Clutch Bearing:

    1969 Jeep CJ5 Base

Closest O'Reily, not super close, but open today:

IT SHOWS IN-STOCK at these three stores!

Figured the boys already carved one out of Lignum Vitae, with bit of tallow on it!
Good luck on the run, Jim.

NAPA Interchanges this as BRG 5206A2RSX.

They are not open today, and indicate to "call store":
    NAPA
    Bowling Green, KY 42101
    (270) 843 - 4384

The other NAPA stores in or around Bowling Green show "not available".

Autozone interchanges it as 5206KE: None showing in-stock in the area.

See post #6. Not super close at 51, 55, 62 miles, respectively, but all three are open today, and show that bearing in-stock. Call ahead and reserve.

Local Indy speed shop is AUTOMOTION 317-786-9600. Indy's oldest. They know who runs a blower and who doesn't in our area. They can help. Quinlin Automotive 317 783 3727 is our local machine shop and they can find and cross reference bearings. A local Napa store is close off of exit 99 on I-65 and Brian is a guru at finding weird bearings for me.Sending you a p.m. with my cell # if you need tools and a shop to work on the car when you get up this way. I am right off exit 99. Tom.

motion industries http://www.motionindustries.com/motion3/jsp/mii/index.html and they have warehouses in most industrial towns and several in larger ones like st louis . memphis ect . and if you need it quick they can expidite for a fee . they have a shop in Bowling green . indy . memphis and st louis , all you need is the bearing number if you can bring it in they can cross match it to many brands .

and best of all they sell to the public .

Fastenal won't have any bearings from my experince. Gimpyshotrods is on the right track. It isn't a "rare" bearing and it isn't a special "blower only" bearing.

The Carquest in Russelsville may have one but finding someone open in that area may be a challenge.
If they don't need the double seals they can pop them out with a pocket knife and go again.

Dumb as it sounds hit a vacuum store! That bearing was used as a main bearing in Kiby vacuums and I believe Filter Queen vacuums for ever.

I'm hoping they got it sourced, as JOHN EVANS called me not more than two minutes after I hit "post" and told me I was nuts! I ram my family's Sewing and Vacuum store for about 20 years and remember that was a stocked bearing though, even though I may be wrong on applications. Hoping to hear the full story of this adventure...

That would work but there are enough parts houses and bearing houses in that area that should either have or be able to find that bearing (it fits a lot of applications including wheel bearings) that they shouldn't have trouble finding it. Yesterday the problem was finding someone who sold bearings that was open.

Now the big question, Did you get one and get it in?
