Thankyou. I got goosebumps just like when I found that issue of hotrod at a garage sale 10 years ago. The car captivates me. I now have a collection of Chevy fours and would love to recreate there feat one day.

I understand it's accepted for next year's Pebble Beach, and will appear again at the Ventura show in July.

And so it goes in the hot rod world. Grown men see simple things and tears run from their eyes and their hearts beat a little faster and they are enriched by just a short piece of film with a beautiful showing of life.
Congratulations to all for the saving, the finding, the restoration and the making of history which will live on and on as long as cars are raced and hot rods are built.

Every day I log onto this message board and just skim through the random thoughts and interesting projects.

Rarely so does a post make me smile and get misty eyed such as this one does.

This is further proof that the HAMB is a force to be reckoned with and a archive for Hot Rod History.

Wow, amazing, nothing less than amazing. This car that actually did it!!.
Lived the life. This is one of the cars that demonstrates our passion for ingenuity, labor and desire to go faster than we ever hoped. All the while defining the word Art.
It created a style before it was a style, lived the life and sang the deadly song of speed.
If the importance of this car doesn't grab your heart and soul, you don't get it. Hats off to those that created this one and to those who appreciate what it means.

There is no better way to honour a forefather than to bring what he did back to life.

Thanks Jamie for sharing this video with all its history and emotion. I for one appreciate it. I would have loved to be with you when you first saw it - I bet the hairs on your arms were standing up ...... to say the least.

If anyone out there doesn't "get" this video - you really need to get off this board.

  20. Not wrong! and what a tribute. I have lost track of how many times I've watched it since yesterday morning, I still get the same goosebumps. There is some sort of magnetic pull this car has, it is incredible.

At the end of that video, they pushed it back to the shop, right down city streets, about 8 blocks away. There were plenty of volunteers!

    Very touching, beautifully done.

  26. I'm not sure if that is final yet, it still been considered.

Now that would be a sight to see. I noticed the volunteers, you only need a few people to push, these roadsters are light.

I got an email from Ernie this morning
this was also included in the email
