I'm no spinner, by any means, but it seems that spinning something, like you describe, would be very difficult. I'm not sure you can spin something to a sharp point

 

Size and shape sounds like a dummy spot.

What are you making with the cone? Sometimes you can source a raw shape from an off topic subject matter.

Last time my wife drug me to Target I saw some polished stainless canisters in the houswares department that looked like they could be car parts. They might have been for shaking a martini, or maybe for holding Q-tips, I dunno. To me they looked like gauge cups, or bullets for a grille in a custom.

 

I guess that falls into the Beyond section.
