i am not a custom car kind of guy first off. i suppose it's because i don't like all that body work. what i would like to know though is, what the hell is with the dummy spotlights. i remember when i was a kid custom cars had spotlights that were real. they would play the light on the drive in screen during intermission. is it just to have more chrome or what?

I’d assume it started because early customs were emulating many styling cues from speed boats and they had them?

Probably because real ones are illegal in places. I have real ones on my car but a retired cop told me they were illegal. I would like to get the new l.e.d. bulbs for mine like the cops have.

Yeah, they're sometimes like pimples on a pretty girl's face. Distracting!
