Projects Splitting my 235 from the bell housing and tranny...?

  1. I'm having some troubles splitting the bell housing and tranny from my 235 chevy. I can't quite figure it out...call me new I guess

    Any help out there?

    I think there's a couple bellhousing bolts behind the flywheel.

    yea it sucks...ya gotta pull the flywheel to get to a couple of bolts.

    yup...pull the trans off the bellhousing, pull the clutch off the flywheel, pull the flywheel off the crank, then you can get to the bolts to pull the bellhousing off the block.

  8. I actually used a sledge to seperate a 228 GMC :eek:. The engine was stuck so i couldnt get to the clutch pressure plate bolts to remove them. Didnt take long. I was needing the flywheel and had more bellhousings. OldWolf
     
  9. Gotta turn the engine to get to the flywheel bolts.....

    I had to go backwards through a locked up 216 for the 6v flywheel.... Had to beat the pistons from the top, and the bottom! to get that flywheel turned.

    Poor little 216 felt the brunt of much pent up frustrations.
