    Forgot to take progress pix...
the '35 was rusted off all the way across the bottom...
the '40 had [2] 3" gauge holes cut in above the instrument cluster...
I cut off the savable '35 top from the nasty bottom...
cut the nasties off the top of the '40...
left a little extra on both, carefully trimmed them down to fit...
took about 1/2" from each end...
I usually butt weld but I let the halves overlap so I can weld inside and out for extra strength...
small pie cut on each side of the '35 waterfall to let the '35 flatten [front to back] and better match the '40.

Nice job. Turned out a heckuvua lot better than my attempt to do the same with a 39 dash.

love cutting up those '38,'39, '40 dashes...
'33-'36 upper dash sections help mounting '38-'40 dashes into an older car's cowl...
they create a "tough to make" compound curved, arched, 90*… it may also let you run the crank out windshield in a '33-'34 hotrod...

The '35 dash bends 90* down about 1.25" over the front edge, by relocating the D nuts it "can" be bolted into a '33-'34 car cowl...
