Glad to see you passed the HAMB blood initiation, Spinner54

Gotta have something to commemorate your new username....
OMG First our Presidential choices then this We are doomed
Spinner, sent you a PM...nice ol Chevy.
I am sorry, but this is some funny shit. I just fell out of my chair and now my hair hurts.
Christ, a two-door at 19. And to think I was happy with my '53 four-door.
First things first, does it run and if so how well? Does it stop and of so how well? After that everything else is just bullshit and being cool.
Lower it via blocks in the rear and either cut the front coils or do some research and find a modern replacement that will lower the front.
Here's 36 or so pages of inspiration for you:
At least you have hair to hurt
Okay Megiver! Weld a stud to your dust cap drill a hole in hubcap insert a good bearing & unbolt spinner weld a nut (same size as stud on dust cap) to spinner & screw spinner on stud! It will be Solo Bitchin! Bill
Welcome Spinner54. Good looking car and young man. You will get all the hot women now!
Welcome, sprout. Put those hubcaps on and post a pic. don't throw the dog dishes tho, you can change the look of the car easily. Nice car too.
Don't feel bad Spinner, I put a pancake distributor on my flathead last year and the dang thing hasn't distributed one single pancake.
LOL I have seen a Bunny with a pancake on its head but never a flat head with a pan cake on it.
Do your balls hurt with those tight pants?? You know that's gonna make you shoot blanks in the future.
Now everybody will be scrolling back up to look at his balls......
Spinner.. Awesome. Welcome Spinner54, you got off easy but it's all for the best
Gentlemen, it appears I have a problem....
One of my new "spinner" hubcaps fell off while driving the other day and got crushed beyond repair. Then another one fell off un-damaged today. :/ Any suggestions on keeping them secured on? They aren't flush with the rim or pushed in as much as I'd like but it's hard to push them in completely. Tips?
Put them back in the box that you received them in and return to shipper as damaged . It might just work. In any case get rid of them before they damage your car.
Why would they damage my car?
By "Spinning" off!
I don't particularly care for pre 55 Chevy's but this thread kick ass! Welcome Spinner!
Sounds like some kind of Chinese import. They need to be all the way in or they will continue to pop off. Silicone caulk can be your friend if you can get them to seat all the way in.
sometimes you need to "tweak" the tabs so they bite in better.........some are just crap, so right your phone number and $5 reward, on the inside, so when someone finds it in the bushes you can get it back.
Can't beat originals if you can find them cheap
IMHO they will look better than the spinners
These are 15s off a 61 Buick Electra
A little more subtle from a 59 Buick
Or Quintessential Cadillac sombreros that everyone adds bullets to.
Just some ideas to let you know what else is out there in case you didn't know. Your wheels might be 14" and they may not fit. The early 60s had some other nice "rocket age" 14" caps from Chevy, Pontiac, Buick and olds.
Spinner 54, you did good. And so did Ryan. Welcome and stick around and maybe put those dog dish hubcaps back on there.
Tip: throw those repops on Craigslist and get some originals. Your car is nice, it deserves the real thing.
You can also zap a few welds with a mig around the rim to give the cheapo repops something to "bite" to.
Cool car man!
A couple pcs. of 3M double stick on the back of the cap or rim
Did you put the caps on by hand or use a rag & rubber hammer? Bob
First off.....the hubcap you pictured is NOT a Fiesta.......It's a very poor reproduction of the 56 Oldsmobile STARFIRE......good grief.
