Had interest in a '54 Chevy back in 1969 with spider caps covering the stock hubs and they fit fine. The '54 Chevy I currently own at one time also had spider caps covering the stock hubs. The caps weren't on the car when I bought it. So I don't know what he did to make them work.

There were a lot of early 50's era Chevy's running these. Maybe they took the grease cap off to get greater clearance?

  4. The grease caps may be the key. That's what mine hit when going on. I know there have been tons of them with spiders but mine don't fit. I can't drive with out the grease caps on. I'll end up wanting to repack the bearings every other day.
