We get there tues evening, so we'll seeya wed!

The roadster is coming in from MI & the coupe from CO.

 

I might show up there, too along with a buddy. Straight from Hungary.

 

ill be there............no car but on a minibike with a bright orange helmet!!!!!!!!!!!!see ya there!

 

I'll be on a go-cart with a Captain America helmet and Megan will be on a white mini-bike with diamond plate. We'll race ya

Under two weeks, yippee!

 

Yeah, I probably won't make it till Saturday (23rd), I'd like to make Tech (17th) but that's not looking good.

But hey I get to go and that beats the alternative.

 

Should be there with my kiddo, we'll be living in the fugly blue/rust 87 suburban.

 

8 more sleeps and Megan and I hit the road in Big Olds!

 

I should be there or working the course at that time.

we will be there again this year. we are headed to Austin NV on saturday (4AM) then on to wendover on sunday. we will be at the track probably sunday and monday but will be headed home sometime tuesday. you probably don't remember but i said hello to you last year. you were parked in your convertible, leaving the track, just past the "bend", before the truckstop. i think you guys were taking pictures with some sign or something. i was on my red Suzuki and headed to the truckstop on the little access road from the bend. "Haaay Hamber" is about all i could muster, i think. and there was a wave.
anyway, i have attatched a couple pics. one is of my friend on his suzuki which he will be riding (hopefully) at the salt. the other is the only pic i have of my red one. the kids won't be making the trip.

Pls stop next time and introduce yourself. I'll have Big Olds once again but will be riding around on a black and white go-cart with a Captain America helmet and Megan will be on a black and white mini-bike with lots of diamond plate. We shouldn't be too hard to miss.

steve here again w/the old Suzukis. i notice you also frequent landracing.com. i was wondering if you could do me a favor. i was on there reading about this "salt talk" thing that is planned for sunday night at the "bend". since we camp out there, we would like to attend. but we don't want to just show up and eat and leave without doing/giving something. i read where "seldom seen slim" talked about donations for a raffle they are gonna be having. since we don't have a race team or anything we were trying to think of what we could donate. my friend that will be there owns a construction company and he could donate a couple of his company's T-shirts. and, for the past couple of years my dad and i have made our own olive oil, from our own trees (we just won a bronze medal at the L.A. county fair) and i could donate a couple bottles of that.

and to my question: do you think these would be acceptable donations?
and if not, it would be totally understandable.

i tried to send a note to "slim" and the website wouldn't let me.
could you please ask him, if you think you need to? if you ask him on the site, i could see it and the answer.

Looking forward to meeting all you yahoos, and to meeting Big Olds in person. I've watched him come together over the years and he's a gen-u-wine HAMB celebrity. Maybe I'll even get a photo of me and the Big Guy together!

 

Steve, I know the t-shirts would be greatly accepted. As far as the Olive Oil why don't you let me try it and if it passes my taste buds then NEXT year you could donate them. (I LOVE to dip fresh bread into grated parmesan cheese with alittle olive oil on top. Yum, yum)

Hey Noddy, That kiwi was none other that Dave Stevens from Christchurch aka kiwidave on the HAMB. We will be back again in just a few days, its snowing here in Chch this morning so a little heat will be great. Just a week and 7000 miles to go.
See you on the salt.

 

You may have to remind me if we see each other out there or any one for that fact. I really lose track of time with all the shit to see there.

 

we camped at the bend in the road last year and were invited to the salt talk cookout. i believe they accept donations to help cover the cost of the chow, but since we had just finished grilling ourselves, we didn't eat. it was a great gathering, very friendly group. we bought some raffle tickets. i won a huge photo of the phoenix autographed by pork pie. we purchased a dvd and watched it on the way home in the rv. find out we were chatting with people from 2 of the 3 teams featured on the dvd.
getting back to the raffled items, not everything was bonneville related, so i'm sure the olive oil would be appreciated. thirdyfivepickup won a box of apples one year. i won't know until the last minute whether i'll be back this year. i have a job interview on monday

 

Maybe if were not sitting in line to go fast, or is that half-fast??.
