After talking with Ryan, I wanted to post this to give some clarification of what is going on with Speed and Kulture Magazine and Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated. Long story short is, Trent Sherril and myself (Chuck Stanfill) were offered an opportunity to take over Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated, after a few talks with Zombie, the hard decision was made that financially it made more sense for us not to take over TRK but instead start our own magazine, Speed and Kulture. Speed and Kulture will remain true to most of what everyone loved about TRK, but with a few changes that we hope everyone will enjoy. One of the things I have seen brought in different places, is the question about the subscriptions. We have decided that Speed and Kulture will honor anyone’s subscription that they had for TRK. To receive this offer, simply messaging on here or send me an email ([email protected]). If you want a new subscription head over to speedandkulture.com today and subscribe. We just completed a pre-order for shirts, but we will have shorts available shortly a speedandkulture.com and cheaterslickculture.com.
Thank you all for your support on this and we hope you end up enjoying Speed and Kulture!

Our plan is to get it back into stores in Canada and the US. If you know any mom and pop shops that are interested in carrying our magazine send them our way!

Yea, we had a similar talk, I think any print magazine has to find the balance between print and digital to survive, if that makes sense.

Also, I forgot to add to the original post, anyone out there that is interested in carrying out magazine in their shop let us know! We would rather deal face to face with some smaller shops or stores then just being in large stores and dealing with distributors. Thanks all for the good luck wishes!

  16. As much as you may not like to use distributors it may be the best way to get your new magazine noticed. I live in the Carlisle, Pennsylvania area, and I don't know of any mom and pop type stores in the area that would carry your magazine. That is why I drive 3 towns away to go to Barnes and Noble to get my magazines. When I lived in Manchester, Connecticut I used to go to National Speed Center to get my magazines. Try them as an outlet for your magazines, as they carried some magazines that are not distributed by the distributers. 860-647-1353, ask for Dan.

Before I got to old to care, I did a lot of research on putting out a profitable print magazine. In my opinion, a regional publication covering a wide spectrum of cars and events is the only way to go. There are a lot of regional ad dollars from national chains out there that go unspent due to the fact that nobody ever asks. Print isn't dead yet, but I suspect that a HAMB oriented publication will be a tough sell on a nation wide basis.

Finally got mine the other day!
Haven't had a chance to read it yet but, did thumb through it and it looks like a pretty good, high quality magazine.
What did you guys think of it?

Issue 2 guys. Still smells like ink. I haven't even flipped to the other, flipside cover. Prettiest mag cover that I've seen in a long long time. 20200401_225159.jpeg
