Yesterday was the FINAL race of the season for the Southeast Gasser Association and since the track is only about five miles from my house I was able to spend Friday and Saturday there. Friday, covering the test 'n tune and Saturday at the races. Friday was a picture perfect Carolina fall day; Saturday dawned cloudy with the threat of rain until very late in the afternoon. The weather forecast wasn't an obstacle for the large crowd that begin filling up the place long before the scheduled 1 PM qualifying time. Here are some shots from test 'n tune Friday night. Since the skies were so cloudy on Saturday, I decided to shoot the day in Old School black & white. 'Seemed to fit right in with Old School gasser racing... If you missed it . You missed a great race. We drove up from Florida and it was well worth the cost. We were on the fence on the pit side about a 100 feet out from the starting line and you could see down into the cars in the left lane. Some got real close to the wall.
If you have never seen the Southeast Gassers, get your butt out and do it. They put on a hell of a show. Nice pics, -Abone.
Tom, once again some nice shots. You certainly caught David in some kind of moment! Thanks, see ys next season.
