Projects Sometimes they come back. '36 Ford Coupe project.

You may be thinking you have seen this before and you are right. I drug this pile home back in 2014. Looks pretty sweet in the pic.



You had to know If I am dragging home a new project it has to be a pile of shit.



Structurally, it was fucked.



Starting to come together.



In a weak moment, I let it go to a local HAMBer.



But, after 5 years, my local HAMBer buddy didn't have the time for a full on project, so... It's back.



The decklid took a tumble on the way. You might remember, this is the same car that lost the passenger side door the first time I drug it home. Starting to develop a pattern.



I don't crank 'em out like I used to, but it shouldn't take too much to get her rollin.

That trunk lid is probably the single most expensive part of a 36 five window to replace.

Avoided dismemberment and all is well. Not sure you can call it progress if you are going backwards, but it has to be done.



The block is at the machine shop which will give me time to finish the chassis, then I will do this in reverse.

Did I ever mention how much I hate bodywork?? 3 months of block sanding and she is finally in primer.

 

The pistons showed up (thanks Ross Racing) and the block is in machine shop jail, so it might be a while for the next update.

I sneaked an Olds engine on you. She is a 1959 394 with a C4 on a fabricated bellhousing. The block is at the machine shop until he is good and ready to get it back to me.

Somewhere in this deal, I finished the chassis. This is the FlamedAbone Basic Ass Chassis Kit shown here in Plain Damn Black.



Speedometer finally showed up.



Shot this once and it was WAAAAAY too shiny. I don't do perfect shiny black bodywork anymore, so she got scuffed and shot again.



Body work is stupid.
