For all of you FE fans, Jay Brown has published a book based on his extensive test data and knowledge of Ford FE engines: The Great FE Intake Comparo (Systematic Dyno Testing in Pursuit of FE Horsepower) published by FE Power LLC.

Jay's book is a comprehensive reference work comparing intake and exhaust manifold performance for the FE range of engines. It includes dyno data for over 150 manifold and engine combinations; pictures, specs and performance data on 38 basic intake manifold types; a review of various FE exhaust manifolds and headers. It also includes comparison testing of Cobra Jet and Edlebrock heads, solid and hydraulic lifters, etc.

The book is almost 300 pages of photos, charts, dyno results and text based on Jay's extensive experience building, testing and racing FE engines. As you may recall, Jay has won his class several times at the Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week events ('69 Mach 1 - blown 490" FE that ran a 9.31 and a '64 Galaxie that ran 9.50's with a 585" SOHC motor.

If you're thinking of building an FE engine, this book can pay for itself by steering you away from parts with questionable performance value.

Check out the website for information on ordering the book: www.fepower.net

Well this is as good a way as any to subscribe. In your post #14, HRC, I'm assuming the battery box is the black box behind passenger side of cab, right? What's the fan cooled box behind the drivers side and red unit up and behind that? I'm not up much on electronics, especially the newer race technology. Thanks for givin' me some education!

You could look at the construction on this rod for a week and still not get tired of looking at it...........simply beautiful craftsmanship. :)

I was at a car show maybe 15 years ago and a full sized Ford (maybe a 65) pulled in and it was shaking the ground. Everyone turned to watch it go by. Turned out to have a cammer in it, and it sounded like a fuel dragster. Pure hot rod porn. :D

That is the battery box. The electric fan is on the oil cooler, and the red unit is the oil filter bracket from Hamburgers. No worries on the questions, I'll always answer them!

First page, I didn't get past those valve covers and the engine.

A 427 SOHC never fails to make my jaw dropped.

I know a local guy that has one stuffed in a Mercury Caliente with the nose in the air.

So hard to see the pictures.... Must be from spackling the screen after seeing them the first time.... The hot rod gods will rejoice when the earth shakes from this truck for the first time.

This is what happens, when you go looking for saved threads, long forgotten. ;)
