    Thanks Pat,
I have been working on getting the roadster ready for the street.
Mounted headlights awhile back. I made windshield stanchions from 25 model T stanchions. I found an original windshield, pricey but worth it. No rot and the screws all came out!

Going to the inaugural Pinetree Jamboree this weekend and, as usual, I'm behind on the stuff I wanted to do before hand. 20210815_101548.jpg
Had a little tidying up to do before I hit it. Safety first:
New battery hold down fabbed and installed, seat belt cleaned and checked, added second throttle return Spring, put the fire extinguisher back in, and checked radiator overflow.
On to the fun stuff: sanded and painted two more wide 5s. Recieved tires today (Sunday, wow), picked up tubes yesterday, checked rear brakes and painted the drums black. I added nuts, bolts, and clamps to the cowl, I guess I missed those before. I also shimmed the cowl again. Doors close and line up better now. I finished the night by sanding the back half of the car, shit I got alot done today. 20210815_093052.jpg 20210815_134005.jpg 20210815_134035.jpg

I once had their patch that looks like the Norton logo on a black jacket...went for a beer some biker guy walks up to me and says "no wearing colors in the bar":p

    Seems like a recurring theme. . . .
I bring the roadster to a race and it doesn't want to run. I had approximately 20 gifted guys and gals working on the secondary ignition Friday and Saturday, we all decided the dive helmet distributor needs to be thrown into the woods.
I had it on and off 7 times on Friday and 3-4times on Saturday. 20210820_141739.jpg 20210820_141747.jpg 20210821_104732.jpg 20210821_132039.jpg

We tried EVERYTHING to no avail.
However, even though I worked on the car for 13 hours Friday and 6.5 hours Saturday I still had fun and learned ALOT from some very smart gear heads.
I need to thank Mike Bowling for putting up with me all weekend
Thanks to Steve and Bobby from Sunapee, Bob and Paul from Philly,
Paul Aldrich, Dick and Susan Linquist, Richie Silva, Frank and Russ from the Stroker's, our camping neighbor Bob, Jared, Jay, Mike, and Adam from Sin Alley Saints, Eli, Lisa, Mike, Pete, and the English Boys, Brian, Gabby, John, and the rest of the Tornados, Mike and Steve Johnson, Rochelle, and Andy Kohler, Mel Stultz, and even Rene' Lacroix, and shit, anyone else who lent a hand. Thanks to all for the help, parts, advise, and tools.

Looks pretty cool though. @adam401 called my car the punk rock of roadsters, a comment that made me proud.

I feel your pain. My '26 T had one of those diving helmets on it that I just could not get to run right, and ended up having it replaced with a new aftermarket crab style distributor to make it to an all-flathead race, and then the advance on the new distributor failed. Luckily I was still able to make passes, but they were pretty weak. Very frustrating.

    Your car looks good though.

No thanks necessary Ron, that's what this hobby is all about. I'm just sorry you didn't get to enjoy a run or two.
You should be proud of the car you built. Only those who have invested the blood, sweat, and tears needed to build a car knows what it takes. In your case it was harder, I know your parts supplier. When you get the distributor back and beef up your wiring a bit the sun will shine again.
    All my best,
    D

What size and brand are the rear tires?
Any idea how tall they are?
    What load range?
    Thanks!

I love your car and have almost enough parts to assemble one too. Will you measure your quarter panel from the door all the way to the back and let me know, please?

So, after many attempts and countless hours in the garage the roadster was just not wanting to run. I literally wanted to put a pallet of M80s on the seat and light a match!!
    Cooler heads prevailed. . . .
I really want to run this car at Pinetree Jamboree in Winterport, Maine this August so I got back to basics. In the course of trying to get it running and trying EVERYTHING under the sun at 2021 PTJ, we smoked the ballast resistor, swapped the wires on the coil ( I am baffled by this) and the original distributor was the main problem.
So, long story longer, used-known good 2 bolt crab distributor and front cover, new points, condenser, wires, plugs, and resistor. . . . Wait for it. . . . . My scrap pile runs again!!!
I am thrilled!! I put in for a spot at PTJ 2022 and am hoping to run at Jalopy hillclimb this fall in NH also. Thanks again for all the help and advise from everyone!!!

I had similar distributor problems with my T, and I know that frustration. Glad to hear you've got it running again!
