well we got the car running, after having to purchase a new y pipe, because the original pipe mysteriously disappeared somehow, had to buy a ford 289 pipe cause the flanges are the same to the manifold. we also rebuilt the original carb, but coudn't get that to run smooth either, so, you guessed it mustang carb to the rescue! runs smooth and sounds good to with the cherry bombs. my kid is pretty stoked. oh, and we got the seats back from the upholstery shop with the center console and door panels. let me go snap a shot of the seats, i'll be right back!

here's a couple of pics of the seats. the door panels are wrapped up and put away, but they are the same as the seat inserts. i think they came out pretty damn nice!

actually a customer gave them to me years ago in the original boxes and i put them away and forgot all about them. they were never mounted. i threw the boxes out cause they were falling apart . i can't remember if thier cragers or astro's, and i could be wrong about that. next time i take one off, i'll look to see exactly what make they are. they are pretty nice and look good on this car

It's looking real good, gonna be a lot nicer than my Rambler! I'm going to use the excuse that mine was built to be a daily driver and has seen a lot of use as just that... plus my dad didn't run a custom shop! I did most of my work on a concrete driveway without even a cover! Having concrete to work on was much better than dirt or grass though!!

i know it's been awhile since we posted any new pics of updates, but since then, the lucky little bastard hit the lottery. he went out and bought himself a brand new cadillac cts-v coupe and a house, that we've been totally remodeling, and we just finished the inside. needless to say, we've been busy. but he has been working on it and all the bodywork is done, it's been shaved, nosed and decked, primed and blocked, it's going to get it's final coats of primer when he finishes doing some more sanding. now that he's got his own garage, he wants to get it done, any way here's a pic in it's current state. more to come.[IMG]

Really!!?? He hit the lottery??? Good job.
I just read this thread and was looking forward to the more recent updates and I'm glad to see he got it big and still wants to finish the car. That says volumes about your raising him and him as a person. Good on you both.

I'm really digging the uniqueness of this Rambler. There's just not enough tastefully built Ramblers out there.

Bump for an update? That last pic shows a lot of promise for the finished car.

  29. Holy shit, hit the lotto!!! I was kind of hoping to see it laid out on those chrome slots earlier in the thread, but it's definitely coming along nicely.
