Jim, the jailbar was a '46 I owned before I got the '47 coupe. I sold it fall of '08 to a friend down the street. Tenenbaums is a scrap metal recycler in North Little Rock.
I've always been partial to black or the OE dark blue on a shoebox. Though, that being said, I'd hate to cover up that great pinstriping. Everything looks great, love that choice of steering wheel!
Cool stuff! I picked up my 9 yr old grandson in Russellville last Friday (he lives in Little Rock, and his mother meets me in R-ville) and the first thing he asked was, "Are we going to eat at CJ's?" Of course!
Man it is perfect just the way it is. You have a Kustom and a hot rod T, how cool is that? You are living the American car guys dream, enjoy.
When I had my '50 I switch out my center light a lot - clear, yellow, red , and blue. I was still on 6 volt and yellow got me home safe and sound one night - got caught in a heavy downpour and the yellow was brighter than the head lights.
Had lots of fun at the car show yesterday the 50 got lots of attention. I ended up leavin the hood up cause people was askin if it still had the flathead. Got to hear several stories about flatheads and hot roddin from some old guys at the show. Was a pretty awesome day im proud of my crusty old ford.
Looks like a nice 50 to me too. Running original motor is spot on. My 49's flat six needed too much to bring back to life. Found 289/ c-4 combo going in place soon. What wheels or covers are you going to use?
