Thanks for the great pics Gary and jwcaddy. This event is on my list of things to do.

  5. We were the first car out on the Cacklefest (Tocco, Harper, and Garten Fuel Altered) and then hauled ass back to the line in the push truck and picked up this little beast to push him off. It's the Schrank Brother's car. I was shocked at how nasty that little 276 cubic inch Desoto Hemi sounded. It held both ends of the record in 1961, 8.65 for the e.t. and 183 for the mph. That's gettin' with the program back in '61, and he held the record for nearly 2 years. It's a B/Fuel dragster, and for a short time, it was faster and quicker than the AA/Fuel guys!

I knew nothing about this car until an hour before the Cacklefest. It was an honor to push it.

  9. Thanks for the great photos. I was at Irwindale in the late 60's and this made me think of that time.

  10. I never saw a Tiki Warrior burnout (unfortunately) but I was in the swap meet and noticed a funny car start backing up from past the finish line, guess I know who it was now. I will try not to miss it next time.

Cole Foster lent a couple helping hands on the 38. Lincoln dash looks killer.

  19. I have several shots of the wagon, but they are among the thousands of pics I have.
It's a restored stocker, very correct. Maybe someone else has more info?
